Fusion of the viral membrane with the plasma membrane releases RNP complexes into the cytoplasm. (B) pH-dependent pathway. Viruses are internalized by receptor-mediated endocytosis. The low pH in late endosomes triggers conformational changes in the viral glycoproteins that lead to the fusion of the viral and endosomal membranes and the subsequent release of RNP complexes into the cytosol.
